The area around Inverness and Loch Ness abounds in history and scenic beauty, and Daviot Lodge is a perfect centre from which to explore the surrounding countryside, with its lovely lochs, soaring mountains, forests, beaches and cliffs, including the world famous Loch Ness
We are located just a few miles from historic Culloden Moor, site of the last battle to be fought on British soil in 1746 when Bonnie Prince Charlie was defeated. Near the Battlefield are the prehistoric monuments and standing stones known as the Clava Cairns.
Sitting astride the River Ness is the capital of the Highlands, Inverness, only 6 miles from us. The city welcomes visitors with excellent shops, floral displays, museum and art gallery, castle and cathedral. It plays host to many musical events, as well as food and cultural festivals. From here you can cruise along Loch Ness or go out into the Moray Firth to see the dolphins.

touring nearby, there are the beautiful Highland glens of Affric,
Garry, Moriston and Shiel.
Loch Ness with its tours and boat trips, ruined castle (pictured left) and legendary monster is just 20 minutes away by car. Why not visit a distillery on the famous Spey Valley Whisky Trail, shop for Scottish Woollens, see Highland Cattle and Red Deer? The possibilities are almost endless! |

Also in the Inverness area, there is tennis, swimming, bowls, fishing, pony trekking, hiking, cycling, etc. Golfing enthusiasts are spoilt for choice as there are 30 courses within an hour's drive, including Nairn (just 20 minutes away) which hosted the 1999 Walker Cup.

About 5 miles south of Inverness on the main A9 (Edinburgh - Perth - Inverness road), turn eastwards along the B851 road (direction Culloden and Croy) and continue for half a mile.
