It’s quiet here in our little town in the midst of winter. Very few tourists roaming the streets, it seems even fewer locals. Christmas is over, and the New Year has ushered in a calming aura of new beginnings, optimism, and the hope that by mid-February our bank accounts will have recovered just in time to book those seemingly long-awaited summer holidays.
But it’s no rest for the wicked at Daviot Lodge. Taking advantage of the off-season quiet, we are conducting some minor, yet highly anticipated renovations to the house. This means drills whirring and hammers banging in between frequent sessions of tea and biscuits (to keep our energy up, of course)! A small inconvenience, but we are confident it will all be worthwhile come April, when the start of the summer season brings in the first wave of tourists.
Part of this renovation includes updated décor in a few of our rooms and new carpets being laid. We don’t want to give too much away, but to keep everyone reassured, we have done our best to keep in line with our current Highland theme – tartan and all! We will update our Facebook page with photos if you want to see our progress.
And for those of you who would like to book for a wintry weekend getaway, don’t worry, we are still open. The renovations won’t have any impact on the guest visits, so please continue to visit our page to check for availability this month and next. In fact, we are still running our winter promotion – three nights for the price of two – which runs until 30th April. Rooms are filling up fast so give us a call or book online to reserve your place.
And Happy New Year to everyone from the Hutcheson Family!
